Sunao Nishimura

Prior to joining MGI, he was a General Manager at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. where he oversaw the private equity and leasing practices, managing the investments in buyout funds and a leasing firm that Mitsui operates solely or jointly with its strategic partners in Asia and Europe.

His career with Mitsui started in 2013 and from 2015 through 2019, he was seconded as Principal to NovaQuest Capital Management, a US-based private equity fund specialized in Product Finance in the global biopharmaceutical industry, where he was responsible for deal sourcing and transaction structuring.

Earlier Sunao was Vice President at a private equity real estate investment firm based in Tokyo working on acquisitions and fundraising. He started his career as an engineering consultant with a CA-based, growth-stage firm specialized in risk quantification & consulting.

Sunao holds an MBA from INSEAD in France and Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Kyoto University.
